Approach

Suffering as a whole is the result of something not fitting with one’s spirit. This could be an experience not fitting with your spirit (a traumatic event for example), a current life circumstance not fitting with your spirit (choosing a profession because your family desired it for you, but it isn’t what you actually want to do), or perhaps a relationship (romantic, platonic, familial, etc.) that doesn’t fit with your spirit any longer. When different parts of life aren’t aligned with your higher self (your spirit, your essence, your soul), it creates unrest within you that shows up as feeling tension, suddenly experiencing panic attacks, overeating, difficulty falling asleep at night because your mind is abuzz, feeling disconnected from yourself, including your body, or finding it harder and harder to find joy in the things that used to excite you.

My approach to helping ease suffering and get someone reconnected with their joy is highly integrative; I use the psychological fundamentals that I was trained in as a Clinical Psychologist, while bringing in a number of different holistic healing modalities to aid in the process. The initial focus of our work will be on identifying, understanding, and then changing the negative thought patterns and beliefs that have become the noose around your neck. As those thoughts and beliefs transform, it gives way to the creative aspect of one’s journey. Desire returns, imagination comes back to life, and we then get to work on creating a life that suits you, rather than figuring out ways for you to fit into a prepackaged life.

My passion is to bridge the gap between Western, modern psychology and healing practices from all different cultures and genres. This may include such things as Angel Card readings, exploration of your Life Path number, manifestation practices, guided imagery, accessing your Akashic Records, womb healing, or breathing techniques (including pranayama) used to access higher levels of consciousness.

Empathically, I always meet my clients where they are in their journey (emotionally, psychically, mentally), but I also infuse our work with the energy needed to make changes happen. It takes effort and inspiration, sometimes an incredible amount of both, in order to create a new life for oneself. In order to build more of that energy and inspiration, I will encourage nontraditional/holistic approaches including such things as nature therapy (spending enough time outdoors, disconnected from technology), daily chakra meditations, earthing (gathering earth energy by walking barefoot on soil), prescribing particular stones and crystals, dietary changes, trying out different creative endeavors (like wood carving, drum circles, trapeze arts, or even book binding), a social media detox, or working with an acupuncturist/cranial sacral therapist/shamanic breath work practitioner, just to name a few. I will only recommend those things that I either have first hand experience with or a breadth of knowledge regarding.

I do work closely with other healing practitioners and will recommend a multidisciplinary approach if I believe it would be beneficial. This may entail working with a shaman, psychic, curendero/a, or medicine man/woman. This highly integrative approach to healing ensures a fully comprehensive approach to reducing suffering and distress, while also creating greater opportunities for connection and happiness.

I’m fortunate to have been trained traditionally but also practiced nontraditionally. It has given me the blessed opportunity to bring many different forms of healing to all that are interested, in all the ways that their spirit is hungry for.
